Melka was one of the first Swedish clothing brands to develop a collection of impregnated cotton fabrics which we used in the manufacture of skiwear and mackintosh overcoats for Men, Women and Children. In fact one of the earliest Melka ski jackets now takes pride of place in our archive sample collection. It is as functional and technical a garment now as it was over 60 years ago when it was worn on the slopes of the
northern Swedish ski resorts.

No Swedish gentleman's wardrobe was complete in the 1950's without a trusted Melka overcoat. Many such garments featured triple-stitched seams for added strength, leather trims and
even forged brass fastenings.
